IH Magnify is supporting a cohort of schools to engage in three years of professional learning and implementation support for Investigating History Grades 5-7. We are seeking mentor teachers who have 2+ years of experience teaching Investigating History in these grades to support delivery of professional learning for this cohort of schools.

Mentor teachers will be responsible for:

• Supporting 5-7 days of professional learning (delivered by Educurious) over the next year (please see below for a list of PL dates.) They will work with the same cohort of educators over the five sessions. Responsibilities could include delivery of a model lesson, sharing of student work, supporting teachers with unit unpacking, facilitating a breakout consultancy, etc.
  • Mentors will also participate in up to 2 hours of virtual planning per workshop with the PL team
• Come together virtually with the One8 and IH Magnify teams 4-5 times over the course of the year to share feedback on their experiences with the professional learning and the curriculum.
• Supporting a group of educators asynchronously between sessions by serving as a resource over email, maintaining a group email thread or Slack channel, etc.

Mentor teachers will receive a stipend of $2,500 for participation as a mentor teacher.
