We’re seeking collaborative, equity-oriented social studies educators to be part of a new initiative aimed at transforming the Massachusetts social studies landscape as full-time or part-time Investigating History Magnify Implementation Leads. Investigating History is a comprehensive, inquiry-based curriculum for grades 3–7 developed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. This position will play an integral role in accelerating the adoption of this curriculum across Massachusetts. The role will support schools’ successful adoption of the curriculum and through it, their success with making inquiry-based, relevant, culturally and linguistically sustaining grade-level instruction a reality for all students.
The Investigating History implementation support team, IH Magnify, will work with schools using the Investigating History curriculum, with a goal of supporting 250 Massachusetts public schools over the next four years. The team will oversee a new structured support program, funded by the One8 Foundation, for MA public schools adopting this curriculum. The program **will consist of in-person professional learning convenings, implementation resources, on-the-ground context-specific implementation support, and community and network building opportunities.
Role and Responsibilities
The Investigating History Magnify Implementation Lead will serve a critical role in helping cohort schools and districts be successful at skillfully using Investigating History to foster engaging, rigorous, culturally and linguistically sustaining learning experiences for all students. This role will work both independently and as a part of a close-knit team to amplify Investigating History’s impact in a diverse range of schools across Massachusetts.
