Adrianne Billingham Bock serves as Director of Curriculum and Implementation for Civics and History Inquiry Partnership (CHIP). She is also the Senior Director of DKP Launch, CHIP’s program that supports teachers implementing Civic Engagement in Our Democracy, a year-long 8th grade civics course developed by the Democratic Knowledge Project (DKP). Prior to working at the Civics and History Inquiry Partnership, Adrianne began working with the DKP at Harvard University in 2019 as a facilitator for teacher professional learning groups during the pilot phase of curriculum development. She became the Director of Curriculum for the DKP in January 2021, leading the curriculum design and redesign work in social studies, history and civics across grades K-12 for the DKP. She moved into the role of Director of Curriculum and Implementation when the DKP began to spin its curriculum implementation support work off in 2024.
Prior to joining the DKP, Adrianne was the preK-12th grade Social Studies Program Coordinator in the Andover Public Schools, in Andover, Massachusetts. In this position, she supported and led district-wide history and social studies curriculum, curricular initiatives and professional learning, and co-led the district’s Cultural Climate Committee. Prior to working in Andover, Adrianne was a senior program associate at Facing History and Ourselves, supporting teachers in their use of Facing History’s curriculum and pedagogical approach. She began her career as a high school history and social studies teacher. Adrianne received her bachelor’s in history from Boston College, and her master’s degree in Irish Studies from the Queen’s University of Belfast, Northern Ireland.
